The AK Party Bursa Provincial Presidency filed a criminal complaint with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey on the grounds of "causing harm to the public by abusing his duty and trust." Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan stated, "As soon as Mustafa Bozbey took office, he disregarded the principle of merit and dismissed thousands of employees at the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, paving the way for partisan appointments instead. Unfortunately, the name of Bursa, one of Turkey's largest and most beautiful cities, has come to the fore due to harassment allegations, nepotism, and tailored jobs at the Metropolitan Municipality under the presidency of Mr. Bozbey," he said.
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST BURSA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY MAYOR FROM AK PARTY At around 14:00, the AK Party Bursa Provincial Presidency went to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to file a criminal complaint against Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey on the grounds of "causing harm to the public by abusing his duty and trust." Speaking in front of the Bursa Courthouse, AK Party Bursa Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan said, "Recently, we have all been closely and with astonishment following the investigations opened under organized crime due to corruption and irregularities occurring in CHP municipalities, especially in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and various provinces of our country. Unfortunately, during this process, we have once again witnessed how far the CHP, led by their Chairman Özgür Özel, is from the interests and values of our country and nation," he said.
AK Party Bursa Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan Continuing his speech, Gürkan said, "In the legal process that started with the reports and confessions of CHP members who have fallen out with each other due to their internal political struggles and disagreements over the sharing of rents; we are witnessing the sadness of seeing a CHP that does not believe in the rule of law and democracy, that does not hesitate to terrorize the streets to cover up corruption, that sees no harm in dividing and conflicting society with hate speech, that targets even our police and public institutions, that can call for a boycott of the national economy by profiling our companies and tradesmen that it does not politically see as its own, and that has to rush into an extraordinary election due to concerns about trustees because of their congresses overshadowed by delegate bargaining, while also not hesitating to complain about our country to foreign countries under the guise of victimhood and the mask of Atatürkism," he said.
"1 MILLION 400 THOUSAND LIRA SPENT DURING ÖZEL'S VISIT TO BURSA" Stating that Bozbey disregarded the principle of merit, Gürkan said, "Unfortunately, management practices that are far from producing services and disconnected from the values of our people, which cannot reconcile with the public interest, have been increasingly evident in some CHP district municipalities, especially in the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, over the past year. We are here to demand an investigation into the official documented expenditure of 1 million 409 thousand 805 TL made from the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality's treasury during the visit of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to our city last July, by Mr. Mustafa Bozbey, who tries to slander with undocumented accusations regarding the previous period to cover up his inadequacies," he said.
"DISMISSED THOUSANDS OF EMPLOYEES AS SOON AS HE TOOK OFFICE" Pointing out that nepotism appointments were made, Gürkan said, "As soon as Mr. Mustafa Bozbey took office, he disregarded the principle of merit and dismissed thousands of employees at the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, paving the way for partisan appointments instead. Unfortunately, the name of Bursa, one of Turkey's largest and most beautiful cities, has come to the fore due to harassment allegations, nepotism, and tailored jobs at the Metropolitan Municipality under the presidency of Mr. Bozbey. The re-presentation of projects that were previously completed and put into service by the AK Party under the name of 'opening ceremony' has been recorded as one of the most tragicomic examples of perception management. On the other hand, the fact that even a parking lot in the Historical Bazaar and Inns Area urban design project, which we completed with a budget of 500 million TL, has still not been opened for service is one of the most concrete examples of the CHP's understanding, which is far from action on behalf of Mustafa Bozbey and his team," he said.
"HE CLAIMED BURSASPOR'S CHAMPIONSHIP AS HIS OWN" Gürkan said, "First of all, I congratulate Bursaspor. We sincerely congratulate its fans, management, and president. I condemn with regret the fact that he claimed Bursaspor's championship as his own during the opening there. I see this statement as a great disrespect to the president, management, and fans of Bursaspor, as well as to our council members. Because the decisions regarding all kinds of support for Bursaspor have been made by the Bursa Metropolitan Council with a council decision, and they have been made with the decisions of the People's Alliance, which you know is one of the two provinces in Turkey right now. The majority in the council is ours, the presidency is theirs. We have stated a principle from the very beginning. We will be alongside our fellow citizens in everything that is in the interest of Bursa and will provide support," he said.
Gürkan added, "By the way, we also have an important piece of advice for Mr. Bozbey. No matter how high amounts they transfer from the Metropolitan budget to French newspapers to complain about our country, they should not allow the definition of 'apparatus' to be used for their Chairman again. I hope that CHP administrators will start using the positions they hold and the budgets they manage to meet the demands of the people, not for the expectations of their relatives and supporters. I also hope that they will come to the agenda with service-oriented municipal management, not perception. We are determined to follow all these processes on behalf of our nation and to hold everyone elected to these sacred duties accountable for every day and every penny they spend," he said.
