In the Uludere district of Şırnak, the lifeless body of Ali Yunus Kerim, an Iraqi national, was found under the snow during a search operation initiated upon a tip-off. Ali Yunus Kerim, who was trying to cross the Turkish border illegally, informed his family during his last phone call that he was near the village of Ortasu, located on the Turkey-Iraq border in the Uludere district of Şırnak, and that he was caught in heavy snowfall and a blizzard.

After this conversation, his family, who could not hear from him again, informed the village headman of Ortasu, Sabri Encü, about the situation. Following the report from Headman Encü, a search operation was initiated in the area. After approximately 6 hours of work, Kerim's lifeless body was found under the snow. Kerim's body was taken to Uludere State Hospital for autopsy procedures. After the autopsy, the body was handed over to his relatives who came from Iraq.
