The bill submitted to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) by the General Chairman of the Felicity Party, Mahmut Arıkan, includes a provision to raise the lowest pension to the level of the minimum wage in order to ensure that retirees achieve humane living conditions.

"IT'S YOUR TURN TO STEP UP"

Mahmut Arıkan announced his evaluations regarding the bill through a video message shared on his social media account. Highlighting the economic difficulties faced by retirees, Arıkan emphasized that the proposal is a matter of social justice and called on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Arıkan stated, "Mr. Erdoğan, it's your turn to step up."

"A 12% RAISE IS A BETRAYAL OF THE FUTURE"

In his statement, Arıkan criticized the raise given to retirees, saying, "In a country where inflation is claimed to be 30%, giving our retirees a 12% raise is an insult to the past of this country and a betrayal of its future." Arıkan argued that the responsibility for economic problems lies with the government and expressed that they, as the Felicity Party, have submitted a proposal to the Parliament to raise the lowest pension to the level of the minimum wage.

A SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN LAUNCHED

The Felicity Party has launched a signature campaign to support the bill. Arıkan invited citizens to participate in the campaign, announcing that signatures can be submitted through the address emekli.saadet.org.tr.
