TFF officials stated that the implementation of foreign VAR referees in the Super League is not on their agenda, while inviting clubs to observe the VAR process on-site.
While the demand for foreign VAR referees from some clubs in the Super League continues to be discussed in the football agenda, a statement regarding the issue has come from the Turkish Football Federation. TFF officials stated that the foreign VAR application is not on their agenda for the remaining part of the season.
"FOREIGN VAR IS NOT ON OUR AGENDA"
TFF officials, speaking to Sezgin Gelmez from HT Sport, expressed that the issue of foreign VAR referees is not on the federation's agenda. They stated that they have invited clubs to observe the operation of the VAR system on-site, but so far, no requests have been received from any club.
In their statement, a TFF official said, "The foreign VAR issue is not on our agenda. No federation sends its quality referees when entering the final weeks. How can we penalize a foreign VAR when it makes a mistake? At most, we won't call them again, but that would cause confusion."
INVITATION TO CLUBS TO OBSERVE THE VAR SYSTEM
Federation officials emphasized that the VAR process is being conducted transparently and called on clubs to examine the system on-site. In the statement, it was said, "We are transparent. We said come and watch the VAR, but no such request has come from any club yet."
It was also mentioned that the federation is financially transparent, and clubs can examine the TFF's financial processes if they wish.
197 REFEREES HAVE BEEN DISMISSED
Additionally, the statement shared the information that 197 referees have been dismissed as part of a betting investigation. TFF officials emphasized that there is no possibility of these individuals returning to duty.
Here is the full statement made:
"The foreign VAR issue is not on our agenda. No federation sends its quality referees when entering the final weeks. How can we penalize a foreign VAR when it makes a mistake? At most, we won't call them again, but that would cause confusion. Those who say our educators can establish relationships with the outside, what else would they say? Club managers, please support us. We have a hardworking, reliable, and educational MHK president. We are transparent. We said come and watch the VAR, but no such request has come from any club yet. We especially expect this from one club. Let them come and see. We are also open financially. Clubs that want can come and check whether the TFF has given an advance to a club or not. 197 referees have been dismissed in the betting investigation. Some of them have played once, but there is no possibility of forgiveness. If it is to be revoked, then why did we set this rule?"
