A woman who stopped her vehicle in the middle of the street in Beşiktaş Bebek, danced and honked the horn, disrupting traffic, was taken into custody. The 29-year-old woman, who was reported to have bipolar disorder, was hospitalized in a mental health facility by the decision of the prosecutor's office. It was learned that she exhibited such behaviors when she did not take her medication.
An astonishing incident occurred yesterday around 3:00 PM in Bebek, a neighborhood in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. A 29-year-old woman named Gizem K., while driving her car, stopped in the middle of the street, blocking traffic.
DANCED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, APPLIED LIPSTICK
Despite police warnings, the driver refused to move and was asked to get out of the vehicle. However, the woman, who did not exit the car, began to dance inside. After a long time of honking and applying lipstick, she attempted to escape the vehicle when a tow truck and fire department team arrived at the scene.
ADMITTED TO THE PSYCHIATRY HOSPITAL
As the woman tried to flee, she was detained by the police. The events were captured on a mobile phone camera. After the incident, the woman was taken to the police station, and following the completion of her procedures, she was admitted to Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital by the decision of the prosecutor's office. It was learned that the woman's family stated in their testimony at the police station that she had bipolar disorder and exhibited such behaviors when she did not take her medication.
