Slovenia declared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu persona non grata and imposed a travel ban on him due to the massacres he has committed. Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar stated, "We have no more excuses; we must stop the genocide in Gaza."
Slovenia has declared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a persona non grata. According to Slovenia's national broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Neva Grašic, stated that "the public is aware that a prosecution process has been initiated against Netanyahu for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity." Grašic also added that "the UN has described Israel's actions in Gaza as genocide."
"WE HAVE NO EXCUSES LEFT"
Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar, drawing attention to Israel's genocide in Gaza, said, "We have no excuses left; we must stop the genocide in Gaza." Musar spoke at the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) held in New York City, USA.
Musar conveyed that the understanding of "might is right" prevails in the world, stating that they would struggle to explain this situation to future generations. Emphasizing that they must be on the right side of history regarding Gaza, she expressed: "For the sake of future generations, we must do our part as humans to do what is right and to be on the right side of history. We did not stop the Holocaust. We did not stop the genocide in Rwanda. We did not stop the genocide in Srebrenica. We have no excuses left; we must stop the genocide in Gaza."
"JUDGES FACE SANCTIONS AND THREATS TODAY"
Musar pointed out that the issues of permanent peace and security, which were the founding purposes of the UN, are not being realized in today's world, stating that the situation is worsening. She continued by saying that we are in a period where international law is invalid: "The independence of elected international judges, the integrity of human rights institutions, the safety of human rights defenders, and the authority of this organization (UN) are under attack. The Genocide Convention is at risk of becoming a relic of the past.
Some states have put the International Criminal Court to its greatest test to date, with prosecutors tasked with seeking justice and judges responsible for defending our international law facing sanctions and threats today. It seems that the states imposing these sanctions prefer to protect the perpetrators of the atrocities rather than confront the realities and ensure justice."
Highlighting that hunger is being used as a weapon, Musar noted that women and children have also been made legitimate targets, stating that this should not be allowed.
