A fine of 1 million 337 thousand 334 lira was imposed on the private mining site that caused marine pollution in Bartın by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change. A criminal complaint was also filed against the company for the pollution caused by the discharge of mining waste into the sea.
A fine of 1 million 337 thousand 334 lira was imposed by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change on a private mine that pollutes the sea in Bartın.
A MINE CAME OUT BEHIND THE SEA POLLUTION
The damage to the environment in the Amasra district of Bartın prompted teams to take action. It was determined that a business located in the district was dumping mining waste into the sea. Authorities from the Bartın Ministry of Urbanization and Climate Change, who investigated the sea pollution identified in the Tarlaağzı village, stated that the cause of the pollution in the water was due to the coal mine operating in Gömü village.
A FINE OF MORE THAN 1 MILLION LIRA WAS IMPOSED
It was observed that the wastewater from the business located in the region was being discharged into the stream bed. The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change imposed a fine of 1 million 337 thousand 334 lira on the said business under the Environmental Law. The ministry also announced that a criminal complaint had been filed with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the business that was found to have caused damage to the environment. The pollution in the sea caused by the waste of the coal mine had come to the agenda, and the images reflected on social media had led to public outrage.
