A fire broke out in the engine compartment of a bus at the Edirnekapı metrobus station in Istanbul. The fire was extinguished with the intervention of the driver and security personnel.
The metrobüs that came to pick up passengers at the Edirnekapı stop caught fire in its engine compartment. The fire was extinguished thanks to the timely intervention of the teams.
FIRE IN THE METROBÜS ENGINE
The fire occurred around 21:00 at the Edirnekapı Şehitlik Metrobüs Stop while a metrobüs was en route to Zincirlikuyu. Allegedly, smoke began to rise from the engine compartment of the metrobüs that had come to the stop to pick up passengers. Noticing the situation, the metrobüs driver stopped the vehicle and quickly evacuated the passengers.
EXTINGUISHED WITH TIMELY INTERVENTION
Then, the driver intervened in the flames in the engine compartment with a fire extinguisher, and the security personnel on duty at the stop also provided support. The fire was quickly brought under control. After the incident, the metrobüs was removed from the stop by a tow truck called to the scene. The disrupted services returned to normal after the metrobüs was removed.
