"A CHILD AND HIS MOTHER CANNOT WALK THIS FAR" Ayşe Algın, who said she saw the mother and son walking on the road, stated, "I was coming back from mushroom picking. I was in front of the house, by the side of the road. The mother and son were walking up the road. They had nothing in their hands; they were walking normally on the road. I had items in my hands, so we did not have a conversation. I had to come home because it was heavy. Otherwise, I would have talked to them. I saw the mother and son on the day they went missing. After I saw them, my parents also saw them. The distance between Bozkurt district and Köseali village is far; a child and his mother cannot walk this far. It is very high above sea level, and walking is very difficult. They had nothing in their hands. There were no bags or anything found. My parents also saw them and said, 'Did they come here to pick mushrooms with the child?' We thought they were here to pick mushrooms. Otherwise, we would have chatted. There were people talking to the mother and son next to the mosque in the village, asking, 'Where are you going?' She replied, 'I am going to Bozkurt, how do I get to Bozkurt?' The women gave directions," she said.
"THIS WOMAN WAS PICKED UP BY A VEHICLE FROM THE VILLAGE" Ayşe Sarıoğlan, a resident of the village, said, "I was complaining to myself, wondering why the woman came here to pick mushrooms with a child. I didn't know where she was from. We had gone to visit the imam the night the woman went missing. It was mentioned during the conversation. It was said, 'A woman and a child passed through the village.' The imam's wife said, 'Aunt Ayşe, I saw them too; they asked me about Bozkurt, and I told them they were going the wrong way and to turn back.' There are people who saw them while passing through the village. I was on the balcony; I saw them on the main road," she said.
