Iran has fired the "Haj Qasem" ballistic missile for the first time in the war against Israel. The "Haj Qasem" ballistic missile, which was announced to be developed specifically to target Israel, is considered a development that could change the course of the war due to its range, speed, and high precision features.
Iran has taken a striking step that will change the course of the war. The Iranian Army has fired the "Haj Qasem" ballistic missile, which was announced to be developed solely to target Israel, for the first time following the Khorramshahr and Scud missiles.
NAMED AFTER SOLEIMANI
The missile is named after Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who was killed in a U.S. attack. The system, known in full as the "Martyr Haj Qasem Soleimani Ballistic Missile," was developed by Iran's defense industry.
The missile, introduced in 2020, was produced by the Aviation Industries Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Defense.
HIGH RANGE AND SPEED ATTRACT ATTENTION
Iranian officials announced that the missile has a range of 1400 to 1800 kilometers. It was stated that the missile, weighing approximately 7 tons, can carry a warhead of 500 kilograms.
It was expressed that the missile can reach a speed of 12 Mach and hits the target at a speed of approximately 6 Mach.
DOMESTIC PRODUCTION AND ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
The "Haj Qasem" missile is reported to be an improved new generation version of the Fatih-110 series and was produced entirely by Iranian engineers. It was emphasized that the missile has a high capability to overcome air defense systems.
The ground-launched missile, which has mobile and tactical features, is approximately 11 meters long and has a diameter ranging from 85 to 95 centimeters. The system, with a total weight of 7 tons, has 8 fins.
SEPARABLE WARHEAD AND HIGH PRECISION
It was stated that the missile's warhead can separate from the body, allowing it to be directed more precisely to the target. Iranian officials announced that the accuracy of the strike is below 10 meters.
Developed as a solid-fueled missile, it was recorded as the longest-range ballistic missile produced after the Zulfiqar and Dezful systems.
DESIGNED SOLELY TO TARGET ISRAEL
Iran had previously announced that the "Haj Qasem" missile was developed solely to strike targets in Israel. The first firing of the missile was evaluated as a development that could further increase tensions in the region.
TEL AVIV HIT: 2 DEAD
On the other hand, in the missile attack carried out by Iran on Tel Aviv and its surroundings, 2 people lost their lives and 2 others were injured in Ramat Gan. Israeli media reported that damage occurred at 20 different points due to shrapnel during the interception of the missiles. While a train station in Tel Aviv and some buildings in Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan were damaged, train services were temporarily halted, and search and rescue operations were initiated.
