The official Diyar Akdağ, who questioned the land registry records, admitted to sharing the information, stating that he acted on the guidance of a woman named 'Ayşegül' whom he met on social media.
After the allegations made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel against Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, a new development has occurred in the investigation that was initiated. The statement of land registry technician Diyar Akdağ, who is alleged to have unlawfully queried Gürlek's personal data, has emerged.
"DIRECTED BY 'AYŞEGÜL'"
Diyar Akdağ, a public employee working at the Kaş Land Registry Office in Antalya, admitted in his statement to the gendarmerie that he queried the land registry records belonging to the Minister of Justice. Akdağ stated that he acted upon the direction of a person he met on social media, known by the name "Ayşegül."
"I REALIZED LATER THAT I WAS USED"
Akdağ expressed that as a result of his inquiry, he accessed 4 land registry records belonging to Minister Gürlek and sent this information to the aforementioned person via message. He claimed that he carried out these actions "without realizing he was being deceived" and stated that he wanted to benefit from the effective remorse provisions. In his statement, the suspect said, "I did not knowingly get involved in such a crime" and "I realized later that I was used."
"I THINK IT'S SLANDER"
Diyar Akdağ also stated in his testimony that he believes the allegations against the Minister of Justice are not true, saying, "I did not consciously participate in a conspiracy and slander against our Minister of Justice." Akdağ, who was suspended as part of the investigation, was detained upon the instruction of the Kaş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
INVESTIGATION IS BEING EXPANDED
As part of the case, the individuals and possible connections related to Akdağ are also being investigated. According to allegations, it was noted that Ayşegül K., with whom Akdağ communicated, had a previous conviction for "unlawfully obtaining personal data." Additionally, it was stated that this person had been in contact with certain political figures, and various allegations regarding the suspect's family and surroundings are also being evaluated within the scope of the investigation. Authorities reported that the investigation is being conducted in a multifaceted manner.
