During the General Assembly of the Parliament, while the budget for 2026 and the final account law for 2024 were being approved, tensions suddenly escalated after the voting. The tension began when CHP Deputy Group Chairman Murat Emir approached AK Party Bursa Deputy Mustafa Varank, and it quickly grew into a fistfight as other deputies from both the AK Party and CHP got involved.
The 2026 Central Government Budget Law Proposal and the 2024 Central Government Final Account Law Proposal were approved in the Parliament. In the voting held in the General Assembly, 320 votes were in favor and 249 votes were against.
After a busy session, tensions rose in the Parliament, where a verbal altercation between AK Party and CHP deputies turned into a brawl.
With the conclusion of the budget discussions, the tension among the deputies suddenly escalated. The debate between the ruling party and the main opposition party deputies quickly grew and turned into a physical confrontation. Footage showed a scuffle among a large group gathered in the middle of the General Assembly hall.
