After a landslide occurred in the Kürtün district of Gümüşhane, the Gümüşhane-Giresun highway was closed to traffic. In a statement made by the governorship regarding the landslide, it was stated, "The Gümüşhane-Giresun provincial road is closed to traffic in both directions, and there is no alternative route available. The Gümüşhane Special Administration has started work to clear the road."

In a statement made by the Gümüşhane Governor's Office regarding the landslide, it was stated, "Due to the landslide that occurred in the Karaçukur village area of Gümüşhane/Kürtün District on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at around 16:30, the Gümüşhane-Giresun provincial road has been closed to two-way traffic, and there is no alternative route available. The Gümüşhane Special Administration has started road opening works."
