A 20-year-old law student, E.A., in Bursa, was caught by cyber police after she was caught on camera mocking victims while defrauding citizens through a fake TOKİ site, saying, "They are applying to become homeowners, and I am becoming a homeowner with their money." After a 10-day surveillance, the young girl was apprehended in an operation. A total of 53 people officially filed complaints regarding the incident.
E.A., a second-year law student in Bursa, created a fake TOKİ application website on the internet.
SHE DEFRAUDED SOME CITIZENS TWICE
Many citizens, thinking they would become homeowners, called the number provided on the site when they realized their applications were invalid. E.A. defrauded the victims a second time by saying, "Your application has been suspended, you need to make another payment because you didn't provide an explanation." When the citizens who realized they had been defrauded called again, it was determined that the young woman hung up the phone by saying, "Go report it to the police, I'm sleepy, it's my bedtime."
SHE DEFRAUDED AND MADE FUN OF THEM
Following complaints, the Bursa Provincial Police Department's Cyber Crime Unit teams, acting on the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, determined that the suspect reached the victims through a link created on Telegram. After approximately 10 days of technical and physical surveillance, E.A. was detained in an operation. It was revealed that the suspect said in a conversation with a friend, "They are applying to buy a house, we will become homeowners with their money."
SHE WAS ARRESTED
After the procedures at the police station, E.A. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court and sent to prison. It was learned that individuals connected to E.A. are also being investigated.
