A major operation in 81 provinces before the New Year! Legal action has been initiated against 169 suspects.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that operations targeting alcohol smuggling and counterfeiting were conducted in 81 provinces, resulting in actions taken against 169 suspects. During the operations, 119,564 bottles and 2,792 liters of illegal/counterfeit alcoholic beverages, 48,425 liters of ethyl alcohol, and 874 alcohol flavorings were seized, and 12 illegal distilleries were uncovered.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reported that judicial proceedings have been initiated against 169 suspects in operations targeting "alcohol smuggling and counterfeiting" across the country.

In a post on his NSocial account, Yerlikaya stated that police teams conducted operations against "alcohol smuggling and counterfeiting" in 81 provinces yesterday.

JUDICIAL ACTION TAKEN AGAINST 169 SUSPECTS

Yerlikaya conveyed that during the operations, 119,564 bottles and 2,792 liters of smuggled/counterfeit alcoholic beverages, 48,425 liters of ethyl alcohol, and 874 alcohol flavorings were seized, and he provided information that 12 illegal distilleries were uncovered and judicial action was taken against 169 suspects.

"REPORT IT, WE WILL TAKE ACTION"

Yerlikaya also shared the following information regarding operations conducted in the last month against "alcohol smuggling and counterfeiting":

"As a result of the efforts coordinated by our public prosecutors and the General Directorate of Security's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department, in the operations that have been ongoing for the last month, we have seized 151,800 bottles of smuggled and counterfeit alcoholic beverages, 91,100 liters of ethyl alcohol, and 10,448 liters of smuggled and counterfeit alcoholic beverages. We have uncovered 29 illegal alcoholic beverage distilleries. Judicial action has been taken against 528 suspects. We are continuously carrying out operations against counterfeit alcohol production in all 81 provinces. Please report any suspicious situations to our 112 Emergency Call Center. We will take the necessary actions. I congratulate those who contributed."
