The footage of some students mocking their teachers at Kocatepe Mimar Kemal Anatolian High School in Çankaya had even embarrassed the viewers. The words of the teacher, who was disrespected by the students, reminded everyone once again how sacred the teaching profession is. The teacher stated regarding the students in question, "I am not complaining about my students. I love them all very much."
Images recorded at Kocatepe Mimar Kemal Anadolu High School in the Çankaya district of Ankara have sparked significant backlash on social media. In the video taken during class, some students were seen displaying disrespectful behavior towards their teacher.
THEY SABOTAGED THE CLASS
The footage recorded with a mobile phone showed moments where students mocked the teacher who was trying to explain the lesson, deliberately disrupted the class order, and exhibited behaviors that put the teacher in difficult situations. Despite the teacher's attempts to calm the environment, it was noted that the students continued their disrespectful attitudes.
TEACHER UNAWARE OF THE FOOTAGE
According to a report by Sözcü, it was learned that the teacher, who was subjected to mocking actions, did not report the situation to the school administration to prevent the students from facing punishment. A few days after the incident, it was reported that the teacher lost balance and fell while teaching at the podium, resulting in a broken arm and was placed under observation at İbni Sina Hospital due to the possibility of a brain hemorrhage. It was stated that the teacher was even unaware that the footage had spread on social media.
"I AM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT MY STUDENTS"
After the incident, which also caught the attention of officials from the Ministry of National Education, visits were made to the teacher in the hospital. The teacher, who was called to give a statement as part of the disciplinary process, once again highlighted the professional dedication. In his statement, the teacher said,
"I am not complaining about my students; I love them all very much. I did not expect such behavior, but I do not want any of my students to receive disciplinary punishment. Teaching is a profession of sacrifice."
MINISTRY OF EDUCATION INITIATED A DISCIPLINARY INVESTIGATION
The Ministry of National Education has initiated a disciplinary investigation against the students identified as disrespectful to the teacher in the footage. It was reported that the investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
