In the context of the betting investigation, MHP Kayseri Deputy Baki Ersoy supported Kayserispor player Abdulsamet Burak, who has been banned from the fields for 12 months. In a statement on his social media account, Ersoy announced that he would pay the player's annual salary out of his own pocket.
As part of the "Betting Investigations in Football" conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued for Kayserispor's 29-year-old football player Abdulsamet Burak. The player was released under judicial control but received a 12-month ban from the Turkey Football Federation. Following this development, a noteworthy support statement came from MHP Kayseri Deputy Baki Ersoy.
ERSOY: I WILL COVER HIS SALARY FOR A YEAR
In a statement on his social media account, Ersoy announced his support for Abdulsamet Burak. Sharing a photo of the footballer, Ersoy stated that he would personally pay Burak's salary to the club for one year to prevent Kayserispor from suffering financial damage during the period of deprivation of rights.
"BEING A GREAT COMMUNITY REQUIRES THIS"
In his statement, Ersoy used the following expressions:
"I wish my brother Abdulsamet Burak a speedy recovery. Five years ago, he faced this situation today due to a mistake he made without knowing it constituted a crime. This is a mistake stemming from ignorance, and every individual can make mistakes. A football player is not easy to raise. We will stand by our brother, who is a part of our community, today, tomorrow, and as we did yesterday."
Deputy Ersoy continued his remarks by stating that he would cover the player's salary to protect Kayserispor's interests:
"Regardless of the circumstances, in good times and bad, we will do what suits us. To ensure that our club does not suffer any financial loss, I announce that I will deposit my brother's salary to our club for the one-year period of deprivation of rights. Our love is Kayserispor."
