The district of Karapınar in Konya was almost a scene of a human wave with the visit of the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum.

Hundreds of citizens wanting to welcome Minister Kurum, who came to his hometown for the opening ceremonies, created a dense crowd along the road from the entrance of the district. During the enthusiastic and exciting welcome, Minister Kurum had difficulty progressing due to the size of the crowd.

HE MANAGED TO MOVE STEP BY STEP

During the welcome, where torches were lit and slogans were raised, there were moments of congestion. Minister Kurum managed to reach the ceremony area with difficulty, stepping through the crowd within the security circle. It was evident that Kurum was pleased with the intense interest he received, as he greeted his fellow citizens one by one in the area.

THE HEART OF KARAPINAR

"Today, we will also witness the beginning of another very important project together. We are laying the foundations of the Sultan Selim Mosque Surrounding Project, which forms the identity of Karapınar. Inshallah, we will complete and deliver 51 houses, 249 shops, a Quran course, and an underground parking lot with our TOKİ by 2026. We will demolish all the dilapidated structures around our mosque and design this area as a new square; we will highlight our mosque and also revitalize the region socially and culturally. The heart of Karapınar will be this area."
