Footage has emerged showing a person in Ceuta, Spain's territory in North Africa, holding a phone above the water with a selfie stick to record the moment while attempting to swim across the border from Morocco during a migrant influx. Spanish authorities stated that approximately 48,300 migrants were sent back from the border.

An illegal migrant who entered the sea from the Moroccan side recorded the moments he tried to swim across the border and reach Sebta with his phone camera held above the water with a selfie stick.
48 THOUSAND 300 WERE SENT BACK FROM THE BORDER
Spanish authorities stated that in the incident, which caused intense public reaction across Europe as well as in the country, 48,300 of the approximately 50 to 60 thousand people who crossed the border since yesterday have been sent back from the border. Security forces' efforts in the region continue.
57 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
It was reported that 57 people lost their lives in the incident, with some drowning and others dying in the stampede near the breakwaters and border fences at the border crossing.
