In the Bayraklı district of Izmir, a person named Uğur Baycan shot and killed his ex-wife Havva Çubukçu with a gun and then committed suicide. An investigation has been launched regarding the deaths of the couple, who had two children.
Uğur Baycan (37), who shot and killed his ex-wife Havva Çubukçu (34), the mother of his 2 children, in the Bayraklı district of İzmir, committed suicide shortly after fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred at a house on 2169 Street in the Muhittin Erenler neighborhood of Bayraklı late at night. According to reports, Havva Çubukçu had an argument with her ex-husband Uğur Baycan for reasons yet to be determined. During the argument, which escalated and spilled out into the street, Baycan fired at Çubukçu with the gun he had with him and fled. While Çubukçu collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood, neighbors who heard the noise and gunshots reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE COUPLE HAD TWO CHILDREN
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The health official determined that Çubukçu had lost her life. Baycan, who fled the scene, later shot himself with the weapon in Refik İnce neighborhood on 1925 Street and committed suicide. The lifeless bodies of Baycan and Çubukçu were taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the prosecutor's examination.
An investigation is ongoing regarding the deaths of the couple, who were reported to have two children.
