A woman has been arrested in Madrid, the capital of Spain, on charges of dismembering her newborn baby and throwing the remains in the trash. The woman, an immigrant from Ecuador, was living in the working-class neighborhood of Vallecas in Madrid. The incident came to light in December when dismembered remains of a baby were found at a recycling facility. It was determined that the baby had been cut into pieces with a knife just five days after birth.

A woman has been arrested in Madrid, the capital of Spain, for allegedly cutting off the head of her newborn baby and throwing it in the trash. It was reported that the woman is an Ecuadorian immigrant and lives in the working-class neighborhood of Vallecas in Madrid. The police conducted a search at the woman's home. The identity of the woman, who is said to be married and a mother, has not been disclosed.

The details of the chilling incident first emerged last week. The police announced that a dismembered body of a baby was found in a recycling facility located in Loeches, east of Madrid, in December. The remains of the baby were noticed by a worker among piles of trash in several plastic bags.

Investigations revealed that the baby was born alive and was decapitated and dismembered with a knife when it was only five days old. The body had been placed in trash bags.

The police named the operation "Operation Natal" and sought public assistance to understand what happened to the baby. An investigation was launched to identify a woman in her 40s, believed to be pregnant in the last months of the previous year.

A police spokesperson stated:

"According to our findings, the deceased baby was a girl born alive. The cause of death involves violence. We need the public's help to clarify this horrific incident."

Detectives conducting the investigation believe the baby may have Latin American origins. According to investigations, the remains of the baby reached the recycling facility after being thrown into a trash container in the Vallecas neighborhood.

During the investigation, a specially trained police dog named Dylan was also used. Dylan, who specializes in finding biological remains, detected parts belonging to the baby during a search among the trash bags. It was later determined that these trash bags were discarded in the Vallecas area on the evening of December 12 and were transported from there to the Loeches facility.
