Iran, which has been at war with the US-Israel for 6 days, has deployed its new weapon. The Hadid-110, a more advanced version of the Shahed-136 drone that the US is wary of, has started to be used in combat. Equipped with a turbojet engine, the Hadid-110 has been reported to reach speeds of 510 kilometers and has a higher success rate in reaching targets due to its lower radar visibility.

It has been reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps used the jet-powered drone named "Hadid-110" for the first time in attacks on U.S. military bases in the region. Iranian media and sources close to the Revolutionary Guards stated that this drone was deployed in operations against U.S. targets.

JET-POWERED HIGH-SPEED DRONE

According to a report by the Tesnim News Agency, the most notable feature of the Hadid-110 is that it is equipped with a turbojet engine. It is stated that the drone, which has a triangular (delta wing) design, can reach speeds of approximately 510 kilometers per hour and is one of the fastest drones in the Iranian inventory.

Military analysts emphasize that the Hadid-110 was developed specifically to overcome air defense systems. According to experts, the likelihood of reaching the target has increased due to its higher speed and lower radar visibility compared to the previously used Shahed-136 model.

COMPARISON OF HADID-110 AND SHAHEED-136

The technical differences between the two models are also noteworthy. While the Shahed-136 can reach speeds of approximately 180 kilometers per hour, it is stated that the speed of the Hadid-110 can go up to 510 kilometers. In contrast, the Shahed-136 stands out as a long-range drone with a range of about 2,000 kilometers, while the range of the Hadid-110 is reported to be between 350 and 400 kilometers.

It is assessed that the Hadid-110 can stay in the air for about an hour, and therefore it is designed for quick and tactical missions rather than long-range attacks.

FROM EXERCISE TO OPERATIONAL USE

The Hadid-110 drone was first introduced on February 12, 2025, and was tested in joint military exercises involving member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). According to Iranian media, this system was used for the first time in an operational mission with the recent attacks.

IRANIAN DRONES HAVE CAUSED CONCERN IN THE U.S.

In a closed briefing given to senators by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the course of the war in the Middle East was discussed. During the approximately 80-minute meeting, the potential ground operation, ammunition stocks, and the threat posed by Iranian-made "Shahed" drones were brought up. Officials reportedly expressed that these drones could pose a larger problem than expected and that existing air defense systems might struggle to intercept all of them.
