In his statement to AA correspondent, Göktürk emphasized that a new page has been opened for Fenerbahçe. Göktürk, emphasizing that a new era has begun where the future of the yellow-navy community takes precedence over personal goals, stated the following:
"I am personally happy for myself, the Fenerbahçe community, and Turkish sports that my call to Mr. Aziz Yıldırım has received a positive response. I hope that Mr. Hakan Safi and other individuals who are candidates will contribute to the process and that we will go to the election united as one body.
