MHP Chairman Bahçeli spoke about the process of a Turkey without terrorism. Bahçeli called for a discussion regarding Abdullah Öcalan's status, saying, "How will the status issue of the founding leadership of the PKK be addressed for the regulations to take place? If such a problem exists, which we believe it does, how will its solution be achieved? How will the status gap of İmralı be closed? This discussion should be conducted sincerely, and a reasonable, rational, and conscience-supported conclusion should be reached in a short time."
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made striking statements within the scope of the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. Bahçeli stated that discussions regarding the status of PKK's founding leader Abdullah Öcalan should be addressed openly.
"THE DISSOLUTION OF KCK MUST BE ENSURED IMMEDIATELY"
Bahçeli said, "The founding leader of the PKK has a significant involvement and share in the realization of the goal of a 'Terror-Free Turkey' with his statement dated February 27, 2025. This call also pertains to KCK in the same way. The dissolution of the organization's upper structure must be ensured immediately."
"HOW WILL THE STATUS ISSUE OF THE FOUNDING LEADERSHIP BE ADDRESSED?"
Continuing his remarks, Bahçeli, who called for a status for Öcalan, asked, "Since the February 27 call is a democratic threshold that supports and encourages peaceful pursuits; how will the status issue of the PKK's founding leadership be addressed for the planned initiatives and regulations to take place from now on? If such an issue exists, which we believe it does, how will its solution be achieved? How will the status gap of İmralı, which serves a Terror-Free Turkey, be closed?" Bahçeli stated that the issue should be discussed sincerely.
