In Balıkesir, 27 people were injured when a passenger bus lost control and overturned into a ditch. Health and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
A passenger bus driven by Ç.S., which was on its way from İzmir to Istanbul, overturned into a ditch at the Naipli location on the Istanbul-İzmir Highway.
According to initial determinations, 27 people were injured in the accident.
Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu, who arrived at the scene to conduct investigations, stated in a post on his X account that the bus overturned into a ditch between the Balıkesir West and North toll booths on the Istanbul-İzmir Highway.
In his statement, Governor Ustaoğlu included the following remarks:
"A one-sided traffic accident occurred as a result of a bus rolling into a ditch on the Istanbul İzmir Highway between the Balıkesir West and North toll booths in the direction of İzmir to Istanbul. According to initial information, 27 injuries have been identified. Sufficient ambulances, UMKE, fire brigade, and AFAD teams have been dispatched to the scene, and our injured individuals are being transported to hospitals."
The investigation initiated regarding the accident is ongoing.
