A passenger train belonging to TCDD collided with a car at a level crossing in Izmir. As a result of the terrible accident, the driver Mehmet Akkurt, his wife Bediha Akkurt, and his mother Emine Akkurt lost their lives. It was learned that the family was heading to the hospital for Emine Akkurt's treatment.
Three members of the same family lost their lives when a passenger train collided with a light commercial vehicle at a level crossing in Menemen district of Izmir.
The passenger train, which was traveling from Izmir to Usak, collided with the light commercial vehicle driven by 52-year-old Mehmet Akkurt at the level crossing in Yahşelli neighborhood. Upon notification, gendarmerie, health, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene.
THEY WERE GOING TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT
Upon examination by the health teams, it was determined that the driver Mehmet Akkurt, his 47-year-old wife Bediha, and his 73-year-old mother Emine Akkurt lost their lives at the scene. After the procedures, the bodies were taken to the morgue of Menemen State Hospital. It was learned that the family, who lived in Yanıkköy neighborhood, was on their way to the hospital for Emine Akkurt's treatment.
