While search efforts continue for the M20J single-engine plane that crashed into a mountain in Bayburt, it has been revealed that passenger Hicran Kaya made an emergency call. During the phone call, Kaya reportedly said, "Our plane crashed into a mountain. I don't know where we are. Help us, we are dying."
The M20J single-engine aircraft, piloted by Mehmet Demirci, which took off from the Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir, crashed into a mountain at the Erzurum-Trabzon-Bayburt border. After an emergency call from passenger Hicran Kaya, who was on board the plane to be taken from Sivrihisar to Rize, teams initiated search and rescue operations in the area. A military helicopter joined the search efforts, and AFAD teams from surrounding provinces also provided support.
"HELP US, WE ARE DYING"
After making the emergency call, passenger Hicran Kaya, who was reached by a DHA reporter via phone, stated, "Our plane crashed into a mountain. I don't know where we are. Help us, we are dying," expressing that their lives were at risk. Search and rescue operations are being carried out intensively.
