In the Ünye district of Ordu, an unmanned aerial vehicle that washed ashore yesterday morning was determined to be an Iranian-made 'kamikaze drone' as a result of technical examinations.

POLICE CALLED AFTER SEEING IT ON THE BEACH
The incident occurred yesterday morning on the beach in the Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood, near the State Coastal Road. According to the information obtained, citizens who saw a foreign object reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the notification, a large number of police, gendarmerie, and coast guard teams were dispatched to the area. The teams that arrived at the scene set up a security perimeter around the area.
Experts were called to the area for the object, which was initially understood to be a piece of a drone. During the inspections, the State Coastal Road was closed to traffic in both directions due to the risk of explosion. Traffic flow was provided through alternative routes during the approximately half-hour operation.
SAS COMMANDOS ARRIVED FROM ISTANBUL
Following a detailed examination of the piece, a 4-person SAS Commando team, bomb disposal teams from the Ordu Provincial Police Department, and personnel from the Ordu Coast Guard and district gendarmerie commands were dispatched to the area.
IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN IRANIAN-MADE KAMIKAZE UAV
As a result of the meticulous technical examinations carried out by the expert teams, it was determined that the piece that washed ashore was an Iranian-made kamikaze UAV. After the inspections, the UAV piece was secured by the security units for detailed analysis. Investigations related to the incident are ongoing.
