A Turkish family residing in the town of Hall in Tirol, located in Austria's Tyrol province, became the target of a racist and anti-Muslim attack on the morning of March 12.
A PIG'S HEAD LEFT AT THE TURKISH FAMILY'S DOOR
An unidentified suspect left a pig's head in front of the family's house and a note containing insults related to the month of Ramadan at the door. The family filed a complaint to find the perpetrator of the attack.
SCREAMED AS SOON AS THEY SAW IT
A.S., a member of the targeted family, recounted their experience. A.S. stated that their spouse opened the door to go to work after the pre-dawn meal and screamed as soon as they saw the pig's head. A.S. explained that the family has been anxious since the incident, especially the children have started to become scared, saying, "Now the children have started to be afraid too. When the light at the outer door is on, the children look directly there and become very anxious."
"WE HAVE STARTED TO DOUBT FOR OUR LIVES"
A.S. expressed fear of leaving their children alone while going to work, stating, "We have started to doubt for our lives." A.S. believes that the police are not taking the matter seriously enough and mentioned that they wanted to install a camera for security, but the police informed them that it was prohibited.
