35-week pregnant Hanife Mete gave birth on the metrobüs with the support of her husband Cemal Mete after being unable to find a taxi in Esenyurt. The Mete family welcomed a healthy baby boy and named him Yılmaz. The moment of birth on the metrobüs was also captured by the vehicle's camera. Living in Esenyurt, pregnant Hanife Mete began searching for a taxi to go to the hospital with her husband Cemal Mete as her contractions intensified. Unable to find a taxi, the Mete family decided to take the metrobüs at 08:30, thinking it would be faster. As the contractions increased on the metrobüs, the IETT driver informed the command and health teams. The metrobüs was moved to a parking area in the Cennet neighborhood of Küçükçekmece. Passengers on the vehicle were transferred to another vehicle. THE FAMILY'S 5TH CHILDThe young woman gave birth with the help of her husband Cemal Mete, while the IETT driver and security personnel also supported the family during the birth. The Mete couple named their 5th child, who was born healthy, Yılmaz. Both the mother and the baby were taken to Esenyurt Necmi Kadıoğlu Hospital by health teams after the birth. "BIRTH OCCURRED BEFORE AMBULANCE ARRIVED"Describing the moment of birth, father Cemal Mete said, "I work as a sales assistant in a store. My wife is a housewife. This is our 5th child. I was very afraid that something might happen to the baby and my wife. The metrobüs was completely full. Thanks to the driver, he dropped everyone off. We pulled over and waited for the ambulance to arrive. The birth actually happened before the ambulance arrived," he said.
