As the increase in oil prices continues to reflect on fuel prices, a rise of 85 kuruş in gasoline prices is expected. Due to today being a public holiday, the significant increase that is anticipated to be reflected at the pump tomorrow will push the price of gasoline in Istanbul over 53 lira per liter.
Citizens continue to monitor gasoline and diesel prices along with changes in Brent oil prices and currency exchange rates.
GASOLINE PRICE INCREASE COMING
The increase in oil prices continues to reflect on fuel prices. A price increase of 85 kuruş for gasoline is expected, but due to today being a public holiday, the price hike will be reflected at the pump tomorrow.
GASOLINE IN ISTANBUL WILL EXCEED 53 LIRA
With the upcoming increase, the price of gasoline per liter in Istanbul will exceed 53 lira, while in Ankara it will rise above 54 lira.
HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?
Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.
EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES
After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that announces changes in prices, the union stated that it would not share fuel price changes with citizens until the legal process is concluded.
