Two Algerian suspects were detained for stealing 25,000 Euros from the bag of Russian tourist D.K. in Bakırköy. The stolen money was recovered along with the suspects and returned to its owner. The theft was captured on security camera.
A Russian tourist, D.K., who reported to the police in Bakırköy on January 28, stated that 25,000 Euros in her bag had been stolen. In the investigation initiated by the Theft Bureau, it was determined that two suspects sat at the adjacent table of D.K. in the cafeteria and committed the theft by concealing their actions with their jackets. Footage of the theft was obtained from the cameras.
MONEY RETURNED TO ITS OWNER
Following the traces of these images, police teams identified that the suspects were about to leave the country from Sabiha Gökçen Airport. In an operation conducted at the airport, M.O.M. (42), a national of Algeria, and B.A. (57) were detained. The stolen 25,000 Euros were also recovered along with the suspects. The suspects, who were interrogated at the Public Order Department, were referred to the courthouse after their procedures. While suspect B.A. was arrested and sent to prison, the other suspect was released under judicial control. The recovered money was returned to its owner.
