A severed human head was found on the beach.

An alarming incident occurred on Key Biscayne beach, south of Miami Beach. A beach worker found a severed human head while checking the shore. The worker urgently notified the police. Officers who arrived at the scene could not determine whether the head belonged to a man or a woman. The identification of the individual will be a joint effort with the Medical Examiner's Office.

The police spokesperson is investigating whether there is any connection to recent incidents, including the case of a young person reported missing in Miami Beach a few days ago. However, he stated that it is still too early to resolve the incident.

The severed head that washed ashore has greatly unsettled the local community. One person said, "We've seen everything here, but never anything like what was found this morning, something resembling a human head. We are afraid to go to our favorite beach."

Another person who spoke to CBS News said, "I wonder if they have any information about where it came from, whether anything else was found, whether it was on the island or washed ashore. I assume it could have come from somewhere else and washed up here, but that's why I'm worried."
