DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan stated that the paths with the CHP have completely separated during the ongoing discussions about the alliance. Babacan described the statements of CHP leader Özgür Özel as 'revenge-seeking', saying, "If we talk about the past of the CHP, there will be a fight at that table."
While the call for an alliance by Ahmet Davutoğlu, the leader of the Future Party, continues to resonate in the political agenda, the clearest response to this statement came from Ali Babacan, the Chairman of the DEVA Party. Babacan definitively closed the door to a possible alliance with the CHP.
HE CRITICIZED ÖZEL: THE COUNTRY CANNOT BE GOVERNED WITH REVANCHISM
Speaking on a YouTube channel he was invited to, Babacan used harsh expressions towards CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Babacan stated that the rhetoric within the CHP reflects a vengeful political understanding, expressing the following: "There are such statements regarding their mayors who have separated that they completely reflect the feeling of revanchism. 'The day will come, we will seize power and we will hold you accountable, my friend' feeling. These feelings occasionally emerge. The country cannot be governed with revanchism."
"IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR OUR PATHS TO CROSS WITH CHP"
Emphasizing that this approach has made political alliances impossible, Babacan clearly stated that the paths with the CHP have completely diverged, saying, "Given the situation, it is also impossible for our paths to cross with the CHP from now on."
"IF WE TALK ABOUT CHP'S PAST, A FIGHT WILL BREAK OUT AT THAT TABLE"
In his statements, Babacan pointed out that discussions about the CHP's past would also create serious tensions, making the following remark: "If we talk about the CHP's past, a fight will break out at that table."
