Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who spoke on the phone with his Israeli counterpart, called on both Israel and the United States to refrain from the use of force in international relations regarding their attacks against Iran, conveying the message that power will not solve problems but will create new ones.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke on the phone with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar.

"POWER DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEMS"

According to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang stated during the meeting that China opposes the military attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, saying, "Power does not solve problems; instead, it creates new problems and long-term consequences. True military power is not on the battlefield, but in preventing war."

Wang expressed that China supports finding a political solution to Iran's nuclear issue, noting that serious progress had been made in the recent negotiations between the US and Iran, which also addressed Israel's security concerns, but this was hindered by military conflict.

"ALL PARTIES SHOULD AVOID THE USE OF FORCE"

Emphasizing that China is always in favor of resolving international and regional crises through dialogue and consultation, Wang stated, "All parties should adhere to the purposes and principles of the United Nations (UN) Charter and avoid the use of force in international relations. This will be in the interest of all parties, including Israel."

Wang expressed that China maintains a fair and neutral stance on the Middle East issue and will continue to play a constructive role in reducing tensions, saying, "We call for an immediate halt to military operations to prevent further escalation of tensions and the conflict from spiraling out of control."

US-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN

While negotiations continued between the Tehran and Washington administrations, Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel. In the US-Israel attacks, Iranian leader Ali Khamenei and many high-ranking officials were killed. The Iranian Red Crescent announced that 787 people lost their lives in the US-Israel attacks.
