Fatih Erbakan, the leader of the New Welfare Party, which drew attention with its vote rate in the recent elections, made statements regarding the political agenda. Erbakan, who was a guest on the Çalar Saat program with İlker Karagöz, answered the question about whether the alliance in the 2023 General Elections would be re-established. “They always ask us, 'Is it possible for you to come together again?' This is not possible because what has been tried once should not be tried again,” said Erbakan, adding, “Unfortunately, they did not keep their word. From now on, once you did this with good intentions and trusted them, there is a president in front of you, there are members of the ruling party, and thus a consensus was made. This was not adhered to; let alone keeping it, they did the opposite, and the country has come to this state. Making an alliance again would be naive and would mean being deceived,” he stated. VETO TO PRESIDENT ERDOĞANErbakan, who stated that they would not support President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's candidacy again, said, “It is right for Mr. Erdoğan not to be a candidate anymore. Considering his age and his fatigue, he has indeed set a record in the history of the Republic of Turkey as the longest-serving head of state. If elections are held on time, he will have surpassed 25-26 years. This is, of course, a record. However, there is fatigue and weariness. There are also young people who have grown up in our country and candidates for the presidency from political parties. It is time for Mr. Erdoğan to retire,” he expressed. “DOORS TO SAADAT ARE NOT CLOSED”Leaving the door open for an alliance with the Felicity Party, Erbakan stated, “The door for an alliance with the Felicity Party is certainly not closed. An alliance that includes parties with their own logos is certainly possible. It is possible to establish different alliances, but regarding the presidential candidacy, New Welfare will determine its own candidate,” he said.
