A taxi in motion in Beyoğlu, with three passengers inside, suddenly caught fire while driving. The taxi driver, noticing the situation, managed to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and quickly evacuated the passengers despite the panic.
A fire that broke out in a moving taxi in Beyoğlu caused passengers to panic and flee outside. Smoke began to rise suddenly from the taxi, which had 3 people inside, while it was in motion.
Noticing the situation, the driver immediately stopped the vehicle and directed the passengers to a safe area. The taxi, which was engulfed in flames shortly after, created great concern in the surrounding area, while the incident was captured on camera second by second.
The footage shows the vehicle engulfed in flames and the surrounding people fleeing in panic.
THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION SAVED THEM
The fire broke out around 10:20 PM in a moving taxi on Refik Saydam Street. Allegedly, the taxi with license plate 34 TFD 13, driven by Duran K., started to burn for an unknown reason while carrying 3 passengers. Noticing the flames rising from the taxi, driver Duran K. pulled the vehicle over and evacuated the passengers.
TRAFFIC WAS DISRUPTED
Upon notification, fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the fire department extinguished the burning taxi, traffic congestion occurred on Refik Saydam Street due to the incident. After the burning taxi was removed by a tow truck, traffic flow returned to normal. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
