Burak Bozkurt, a 25-year-old wrestler from Sındırgı Belediyespor, who was expected to participate in the Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling, passed away at home due to a heart attack. Bozkurt, who had previously stood on the podium at Kırkpınar, will be laid to rest after Friday prayers. The Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation issued a condolence message following the young wrestler's death.
25-year-old Burak Bozkurt, a wrestler from Sındırgı Belediyespor, passed away due to a heart attack.
Bozkurt, a "Great Middleweight" wrestler, suffered a heart attack at his home in Balıkesir and could not be saved despite intervention at Sındırgı State Hospital.
Burak Bozkurt's funeral will be held after the Friday prayer at Şerif Paşa Mosque, and he will be laid to rest in the district cemetery.

Additionally, it was expected that Bozkurt, who had previously reached the podium at the Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling Championships, would participate in the event this year as well.
In the condolence message published by the Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation, it was stated, "We are saddened to hear the news of the passing of our Great Middleweight wrestler Burak Bozkurt from Balıkesir. We wish our wrestler God's mercy and offer our condolences to his family and loved ones."
