Three people lost their lives after a vehicle fell from an incomplete bridge due to GPS navigation in India.
Insufficient warning signs and outdated maps in India claimed three lives. A citizen from a nearby village in Bareilly found a submerged vehicle by the riverbank, containing three lifeless bodies.
IT LED TO AN INCOMPLETE BRIDGE
In the police investigation, it was revealed that the deceased were using GPS to return home from a wedding, and the navigation directed them to an incomplete bridge. The car, unable to stop due to high speed, fell 7.5 meters into a pit in the Ramganga riverbed. The security personnel inside the vehicle, Kaushal Kumai, Vivek Kumar, and Amit Kumar, lost their lives. The lifeless bodies were taken to the morgue for autopsy after being identified by their families.
KNOWN AS "DEATH TRAP" AMONG THE PUBLIC
It was learned that the bridge that caused the accident was destroyed in the severe flood disaster of 2022 and is known among the public as a "death trap." Despite the prohibition of travel on the collapsed bridge, the lack of sufficient warning signs and drivers relying on outdated digital maps make the area a significant danger.
