A car that went out of control fell into an irrigation canal in the Eğil district of Diyarbakır. Four people trapped in the vehicle submerged in the water were rescued alive in an operation where teams raced against time.
CAR PLUNGED INTO IRRIGATION CANAL
The incident occurred in the Yatır neighborhood of the Eğil district. The car, which went out of control after the driver lost control of the steering wheel, plunged into the irrigation canal on the side of the road. Upon noticing the situation and reporting it, many 112 Emergency Health, fire brigade, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region.
4 PEOPLE RESCUED ALIVE
Fire brigade and gendarmerie diving teams, who arrived at the scene in a short time, immediately began work to remove the 4 people in the submerged vehicle. The injured, taken out of the car with the teams' critical intervention, were handed over to medical teams.
The 4 people, who received first aid at the scene, were taken to the hospital by ambulances and treated. The car submerged in the canal was removed from the water with the help of a crane. Gendarmerie teams launched a comprehensive investigation into the accident.
