An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), assessed to possibly be loaded with ammunition, was found on the Black Sea coast at Arnavutköy Karaburun Beach. After citizens on the shore noticed the UAV in the morning hours, Coast Guard teams were notified, and SAS commandos were dispatched to the region. It was learned that the UAV would be destroyed at its location following the teams' examination. The UAV on the beach was filmed from the air with a drone camera.

CITIZENS FISHING NOTICED THE OBJECT

The incident occurred in the morning hours on Arnavutköy Karaburun beach. According to information obtained, citizens fishing with lines on the shore noticed an object they had not seen before and notified the lifeguards on duty in the area. Upon the report, the lifeguard teams who arrived at the scene assessed that the object was an unmanned aerial vehicle and informed the Coast Guard teams.

After the report, teams arriving at the area began an examination on the UAV. In initial assessments, the possibility that the UAV might be carrying explosives was considered, and SAS commandos were dispatched to the area.

The SAS commandos who arrived at the area carried out work on the UAV. After the examinations, it was learned that the UAV would be destroyed on site at its location as part of security measures. Meanwhile, the UAV on the beach was captured from the air with a drone camera. In the images, the UAV's fuselage and wide wing structure drew attention.

Muhammet Can Çoban, the lifeguard chief who came to the area after the UAV was found, said, "When we arrived at the scene following the citizen's report in the morning, we encountered an unusual sight. We used to see such things constantly on television. We were also surprised to see it here. Citizens fishing in the morning saw it and reported it to us. After we determined where it was, we informed the Coast Guard teams. They are currently conducting their examinations at the scene."

Stating that the found object was different from objects they had encountered in the region before, Çoban said, "This is very different from the one found recently, and its wingspan is very large. I have seen something like this for the first time. Our friends involved in fishing and our citizens walking in the sea and on the shore exist. Encountering such things upsets and scares us. There was something like a stovepipe in front of it, but we don't know whether there is a bomb inside or not."
