A dispute that started over alleged catcalling in Istanbul quickly turned into an armed fight. Mehmet Pehlivan, an unfortunate tradesman who tried to separate the parties, was shot and killed by random gunfire.
In Bayrampasa, Enis Emre C. got into an argument with Rasit O., whom he claimed made remarks to his wife. When the argument quickly turned into a fight, Enis Emre C. fired randomly with a gun. One of the bullets struck Mehmet Pehlivan, who was trying to separate the parties, in the abdomen. Pehlivan, taken to the hospital, lost his life. Meanwhile, security camera footage of the fight emerged.
ARGUED WITH MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
The incident occurred on Thursday, July 30, at around 16:40 on Tuna Street, Ismetpasa Neighborhood. According to information obtained, an argument broke out between Rasit O., who was sitting as a customer in front of the bakery, and Cigdem C. (37), who was passing by with her daughter G.C. (13), due to remarks made.
RETURNED WITH HER HUSBAND
After the argument, Cigdem C. left the street and returned to the scene about 25 minutes later with her husband Enis Emre C. (38). Enis Emre C. tried to beat Rasit O. During this time, Rasit O.'s father, Cemil O. (70), also joined the fight. In the scuffle between the parties, the father and son noticed the gun on the suspect's waist and tried to take it. While bystanders were trying to break up the fight, Enis Emre C. began firing randomly with the gun he had.
LOST HIS LIFE AT THE HOSPITAL
In the incident, tradesman Mehmet Pehlivan, who wanted to break up the fight, was seriously injured when one of the bullets from the gun struck his abdomen. Police and health teams were dispatched to the scene upon the report. Health teams provided first aid to the injured Mehmet Pehlivan. Rasit O., involved in the fight, was injured from the blows and taken to the hospital. Pehlivan, seriously injured, lost his life despite all interventions at Gaziosmanpasa Training and Research Hospital. Pehlivan's funeral was buried in his hometown, Kastamonu.

In the images reflected on the security camera of a nearby workplace, moments were shown of the fight between Enis Emre C. and Rasit O. growing, and the bullets from Enis Emre C.'s gun hitting Mehmet Pehlivan, who was trying to separate the parties.
