U.S. President Donald Trump stated that there could be an economic slowdown if Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell does not lower interest rates.
Trump targeted Fed Chairman Powell in a post on his Truth Social social media account.
Noting that many people have called for "preventive rate cuts", Trump mentioned that energy costs and food prices have significantly decreased, and while many other "things" are trending downward, there is "almost no inflation."
Trump said, "As these costs are beautifully declining just as I predicted, inflation can almost not exist, but if the very late, big loser does not lower interest rates now, there could be an economic slowdown."
Pointing out that Europe has cut rates 7 times, Trump remarked, "Powell has always been very late to lower rates, except to help sleepy Joe Biden during the election period, and then Kamala."
Last week, U.S. President Trump also criticized Fed Chairman Powell for being "late to cut rates."
Expressing his dissatisfaction with Powell, Trump stated that if he wanted Powell to resign, he would leave immediately.
Trump, who commented that Powell is involved in politics, indicated that interest rates need to be lowered.
IRAN NEGOTIATIONS: "WE HAD GOOD TALKS"

Trump stated that they had good talks with Iran.
