A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the assailant who terrorized the taxi driver.

The taxi driver's reflex saved his life. A young passenger, who was a drug addict, attempted to stab and rob the taxi driver he got into. The moments of horror were captured by security cameras, while the suspect was released.

The incident occurred last week. According to the information obtained, Emirhan Ü. got into the taxi driven by Hakan Paktan to go to Akgedik Neighborhood in Yunusemre district from the taxi stand in Şehzadeler district. When they arrived at the address, the taxi driver told Emirhan Ü. the fare. Emirhan Ü. said he would pay by card and asked for the card machine.

HE SUDDENLY TRIED TO STAB

While taxi driver Paktan was entering the fare into the card machine, Emirhan Ü. pulled out a knife from his waist and lunged at Paktan's chest. With a sudden reflex, the taxi driver held the sharp part of the knife with his hand and struggled with Emirhan Ü. for a while inside the vehicle, then unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car. Emirhan Ü., who got out of the vehicle after Paktan, fled the scene.

ATTACKED THE TAXI DRIVER, CAUGHT WHILE TRYING TO ROB HIS UNCLE

It was learned that Emirhan Ü. later went to his uncle's house to attempt a robbery and was subsequently caught by gendarmerie teams. Emirhan Ü., who was brought to court, was released to be tried without detention. Furthermore, it was reported that Emirhan Ü. was involved in a fight around noon today and was taken into custody by police teams.

RELEASED

The suspect was released under judicial control by the court after his procedures at the police station.

AN ARREST WARRANT WAS ISSUED

In a statement made by the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after the incident, it was stated that a new arrest warrant was issued for the suspect.

The statement included the following: "On 29/11/2024 at around 00:00, regarding the attack on commercial taxi driver H.P. in Akgedik Neighborhood, Yunusemre district, our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation, and the suspect E.Ü. was detained, and a judicial control order was applied by the Peace Criminal Court. After the images of the incident inside the commercial vehicle were presented to our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office by the law enforcement units on 12/12/2024, an examination was conducted, and since these images constitute new evidence, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."
