A worker named Sabri Kılınç fell into a sludge pit at a treatment facility in the Çiğli district of İzmir and lost his life. After the incident, 5 facility officials were summoned for questioning.

A worker who fell into a sludge pit at a treatment facility in the Çiğli district of İzmir lost his life. Five facility officials were summoned for questioning regarding the incident. The event occurred yesterday around 4:00 PM at the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality İZSU Treatment Facility in Kaklıç Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the worker on duty, Sabri Kılınç (38), fell into the sludge pit within the facility with the vehicle he was driving, which had the license plate 35 KE 615. After his family, who could not reach him, reported the situation to the authorities around 11:45 PM, search and rescue and medical teams were dispatched to the area.

THE VEHICLE WAS REMOVED WITH THE HELP OF A CRANE

The vehicle identified in the pit was removed from its location with the help of a crane. In the examination conducted by the medical teams, it was determined that the driver, Sabri Kılınç, had lost his life. Kılınç's lifeless body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution's morgue after the prosecutor's examination.

SUSPICIOUS PROCEDURE FOR 5 OFFICIALS

Following the incident, which was initially considered a suspicious death, a judicial investigation was initiated under the scope of a fatal work accident. Upon the prosecutor's instruction, the facility manager I.A. (49), branch manager G.K. (40), administrative affairs chief A.D. (52), occupational health and safety expert G.G. (35), and chief driver M.G. (42) were summoned for questioning as suspects.
