A young man who entered the house to retrieve his phone during a fire lost his life.

A fire broke out in a house in the rural Geçit neighborhood of the Çüngüş district of Diyarbakır when sparks from the stove scattered around. Family members who noticed the fire went outside and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Fire and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification. Meanwhile, Erman Çiftçi, a 2nd-grade student at Çüngüş Multi-Program Anatolian High School, entered the house to retrieve his phone, which he had forgotten inside, and was unable to get back outside.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED REGARDING THE INCIDENT

With the intervention of the teams, the fire was brought under control and extinguished, while it was determined that Erman, who was brought out motionless, had lost his life. Çiftçi's body was buried in the neighborhood cemetery after an autopsy was performed at the Çüngüş State Hospital morgue. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
