The funeral of 2-year-old Rana El Selci, a Syrian national who lost her life due to an attack by approximately 10 stray dogs in Konya, has been sent to her hometown. In response to this incident that has drawn public outrage in Turkey, two prosecutors have been assigned to the case. Meanwhile, the municipality is continuing its efforts to collect stray dogs.

2-year-old Rana El Selci, who went to visit her relatives with her family, went outside while her mother was preparing food for iftar in the kitchen. Selci was attacked by about 10 stray dogs. Severely injured, Selci was taken to Konya City Hospital by her relatives. Rana El Selci could not be saved. Selci's body was taken to the Konya Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy.

2 PROSECUTORS ASSIGNED
After the incident, the Konya Governorship also made a statement. The statement said, "Our child named R.E.S., who was attacked by stray dogs, has lost his life in the hospital where he was taken. Our struggle to collect stray dogs in Konya continues. A comprehensive investigation has been initiated regarding the incident," it was stated. The Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that it has launched an investigation into the incident and assigned 1 Chief Public Prosecutor Deputy and 1 Public Prosecutor.
"THOSE RESPONSIBLE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE"
Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, who came to the area where the incident occurred, made statements. Kılca said,
"It has been 2.5 months since the regulation was issued. Our teams are working day and night to collect the dogs. 30 of our personnel are working on this. I wish this had not happened; we all have children. We are experiencing the same pain. The judicial and administrative process has now begun. Those responsible, including us, whoever they are, will be held accountable. We have been working on this for 6 months, and we will continue to do so," he said.
