It was reported that 50 kilograms of silver and 25 kilograms of gold from the custody office at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse in Istanbul were stolen by an official working at the courthouse. An arrest warrant has been issued for the official who committed the theft.
It was determined that Erdal T., the officer in charge of the Trust Office of the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, had not been coming to work for a long time. Following this, the prosecutor's office had the safes, for which the keys were held by the trust officer Kemal D., opened due to suspicion. It was found that the opened safes were completely empty. According to initial findings, it was revealed that approximately 50 kilograms of silver and 25 kilograms of gold were missing.
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED FOR THE OFFICER
Upon determining the situation, the prosecutor's office contacted the police teams and issued a detention order for Erdal T. and Kemal D. In the investigation, it was found that Erdal T. fled to England with his wife Esma T. and their children on November 19, 2025, at 08:22 from Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Following this, an arrest warrant was issued for Erdal T. and his wife. The other suspect, Kemal D., was detained. Statements were taken from all personnel, including the head of the writing department working in the trust office, as witnesses. Additionally, searches were conducted at the suspects' home addresses by the Peace Criminal Court, but no criminal evidence was found. Meanwhile, while the investigation is ongoing, the examination of the camera recordings continues, and HTS records belonging to the suspects' phones were also requested. It was learned that an additional detention period was obtained for Kemal D., who is in custody.
