An operation was carried out against 54 suspects identified for arranging fake documents through bribery in Istanbul. 46 of the suspects were apprehended. It was learned that the network received bribes from foreign students during their applications for equivalency certificates and also arranged reports related to the core report, which is mandatory for schools by the Ministry of National Education, in exchange for bribes.

In an operation based in Istanbul, 46 out of 54 suspects, who are alleged to have arranged fake documents in exchange for bribes, were captured.

As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the crimes of "bribery" and "fraud to the detriment of public institutions," it was determined that bribes were taken during the applications for equivalency certificates from foreign nationals who came to Turkey for education.

THEY ARRANGED A CORE REPORT WITH BRIBERY

It was found that the suspects received bribes in exchange for enrolling individuals who had been expelled from high school or had not graduated in private schools such as open high schools and evening high schools, allowing them to graduate in a short time. Additionally, it was determined that they arranged reports related to the core report, which the Ministry of National Education mandated for schools following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, in exchange for bribes.

46 PEOPLE CAPTURED IN 5 PROVINCES

As part of the investigation, detention orders were issued for 54 suspects on charges of "bribery" and "qualified fraud." In a simultaneous operation conducted in Istanbul, Ankara, Gaziantep, Rize, and Tokat, 46 of the suspects were captured. Efforts to apprehend the fugitives are ongoing.
