CHAIR DISTRIBUTION HAS CHANGED

With Zorlu's resignation, the distribution in the Parliament has also changed. After the general elections held last year, the İYİ Party had 44 MPs. With this resignation, the number of İYİ Party MPs has decreased to 29.

Recently, there are claims that Kürşad Zorlu, who resigned from the İYİ Party, will join the AK Party... It is known that Istanbul MPs Seyithan İzsiz and Ahmet Ersagun Yücel, who resigned from the İYİ Party and continued their work as independents, joined the AK Party. Following these two names, Kayseri MP Dursun Ataş, who also resigned from the İYİ Party, became another name to join the AK Party.

Kürşad Zorlu stated the following in his resignation announcement;

With this goal and awareness, I responded to the invitation and joined the İYİ Party family on November 19, 2022. I carried out the duties assigned to me by my party with great effort and pride in a challenging political atmosphere. As is known, with the 5th Extraordinary Congress we held on April 27, 2024, our party embarked on a journey of change, hoping for a bright future. In the more than 8 months that have passed, I have worked with all my strength to put forth an effort worthy of the honorable badge of deputy that my nation has bestowed upon me.

"I AM TERMINATING MY OFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE İYİ PARTY"

However, at this point, I regret to see that the opportunity to progress towards a common goal that would carry this hope into the future has been lost. In this mandatory situation, it is time for me, as a child of this country whose compass always points to its nation, to set out again. As of today, I am terminating my official relationship with the İYİ PARTY. I sincerely thank my comrades in the cause with whom I have fought together under this roof and the veteran members of our organization who have not withheld their support from me.
